Lab note L-04

Network limits and max conversion, explained

Vegas Mobile Casino and The Online Casino share two short clauses: "Limited to 5 brands within the network" and a max conversion figure. Neither is unusual. Both change what a player can realistically get out of the offer.

The wording, verbatim

Max conversion: £50 the bonus amount or from free spins: £20.

Limited to 5 brands within the network.

Withdrawal requests void all active/pending bonuses.

Max conversion: from the bonus amount: 50 or from free spins: £20.

Limited to 5 brands within the network.

Withdrawal requests void all active/pending bonuses.Excluded Skrill and Neteller deposits.

"Limited to 5 brands within the network"

ProgressPlay Limited runs a large number of casino brands on one platform. The clause means the welcome offer can be claimed at no more than five of them. Open accounts at a sixth and seventh sister site and you shouldn't expect a welcome bonus there, even though the site looks unrelated.

What the significant terms don't say is which brands make up "the network". Two of the five casinos on this page belong to it, which you can see from the shared operator and UKGC account (39335). Beyond that, the operator's full terms or its register entry (which lists trading names and domains) is the place to look.

What it means in practice

  • If you already hold accounts at several ProgressPlay Limited brands, the offer may not be available to you. Check before depositing on the strength of it.
  • Your history is likely to follow you across sister brands. That includes any safer gambling limits or exclusions, which is a good thing.
  • It's a reason not to hop between look-alike sites chasing a new welcome offer each time. The pattern of opening account after account is also one of the warning signs listed on our responsible play page.

Max conversion

Max conversion is the largest amount of bonus-derived money that can become real, withdrawable cash once wagering is complete. Here it's £50 from the bonus and £20 from free spin winnings. The terms we hold don't spell out what happens to anything above the cap; under wording like this it is normally removed when the bonus converts. The full T&Cs will say.

Three balances after wagering, one cap

Bonus balance after wageringCapConverts to cashAbove the cap
£30£50£30£0
£50£50£50£0
£140£50£50£90

The balances are illustrative. Most bonus balances shrink during wagering rather than grow. But the table shows the key asymmetry: below the cap the clause does nothing, above it the extra simply goes.

Why it matters more for some offers than others

Vegas Mobile Casino's headline bonus is £1,000 against a £50 cap; The Online Casino's headline bonus is £50 against a £50 cap. A cap equal to the maximum bonus is a mild restriction. A cap that is a small fraction of the headline turns most of the headline into playing balance only. That's why our bonus-size metric uses the capped figure, and why the leaderboard shows both.

The two lines next to them

Both offers also say "Withdrawal requests void all active/pending bonuses." Ask for a withdrawal while a bonus is running, even a withdrawal of your own deposit, and the bonus goes. And both exclude Skrill and Neteller deposits from the offer. If either of those matters to how you use an account, the other 3 offers on this page (Skill On Net Ltd) don't carry these clauses in their significant terms; compare them on the terms table.
